League announcement regarding Coronavirus response

After discussing the situation with a nurse from the local Health Department, reviewing the IYSA and the US Youth Soccer recommendations, discussing this with Representatives from the SIMSS League and other Board Members, we have decided to POSTPONE the start of our Rec League Season.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After discussing the situation with a nurse from the local Health Department, reviewing the IYSA and the US Youth Soccer recommendations, discussing this with Representatives from the SIMSS League and other Board Members, we have decided to POSTPONE the start of our Rec League Season. The Opening Day Games Scheduled for March 28th, will now be played at the END of the Season on May 9th. We will START our Season on April 4th. Baseball/Softball are supposedly pushing their season back 2 weeks, so there shouldn't be a conflict. Regarding PRACTICES during the School shutdown: We are going to let the Coaches decide if they want to practice. Some may postpone and wait until NEXT week to start. Others may start this week. Our recommendation is that if your child or a family member has ANY Symptoms, KEEP THEM HOME!!! That includes once the Season Starts. We are asking the Coaches to contact everyone with their intentions regarding practices in the next couple of days. Everyone PLEASE be patient. Use common sense. Inform you kids that if they are having practice (and even once games start) to NOT shake hands, give high fives, share drinks, hug, etc. Use Hand Sanitizer before and after practice/games. We believe getting them outside and doing drills, practicing, etc in small groups will be good for them, and I have spoken with other extra curricular activities (Dance etc) that are doing the same, but also taking common sense precautions. Again, Thank You for your patience... ⚽️⚽️⚽️ The STATUS of the SEASON will be re-evaluated on an ongoing basis, and I will continue to stay in contact with, and get updates from the Local Health Department.⚽️⚽️⚽️
